Plug and play bolt on rock lights and mounting brackets. These bolt on using the front and rear running board mounts. Running boards must be removed for these to be installed.
There are two options:
- Rock lights and mounting brackets (wiring is left to customer)
- Rock lights, mounting brackets and wire connectors for plugging into running board wire harness. (Running board wire harness must be removed from running boards and transferred to vehicle.) Connectors will be crimped onto the rock lights for true plug and play installation. When wired up this way the lights will act as courtesy lights. They will turn on/off when the doors are opened and the vehicle is unlocked/locked.

I got these lights and the installation was a breeze. The lights themselves and their installation posed no challenge, it was perfectly straightforward. The only part that took care was because I reused the wiring harness that was from the old side steps. I used a thin metal probe tool like a pick to lift the tabs on the old plastic connectors and remove the dusty wires from where they had been attached for 25 years. I wrapped all the connections in electrical tape just to help keep them dry and protected. And I put wire loom around the areas where it didn't already have wire loom on the factory harness. Once I had the wiring sorted, the lights themselves work flawlessly and look just like what I wanted. The lights are definitely worth the asking price because they are perfectly designed for this application..

These were very affordable and super easy to install. I recommend chasing the threads on the body prior to attaching. I highly recommend these lights due to the fact they are out of harms way and do not impede on rock sliders
I could have done it myself slightly cheap, but this kit is well made and absolutely complete! Had all four lights complete in under 30 minutes.
I’ll start with the pros first. The led themselves are pretty bright and I option them to come with a connector already installed and it was super simple to install which was nice and it just plugs right into the factory harness off the old oem running boards. And it also works like the lights off the running board so when you unlock they turn on or if the door is open they turn on. For the cons the hardware it came with was basically useless cause when you try to tighten them down it interferes with the 3d printed bracket which was no big deal since i have some hex screws that have a round edge. I also noticed when you try tightening them down you have to be carful not to smash the plastic bracket or it will be deformed. Also wish the lights would point out a little more and maybe even angled better so the cutoff on the light isn’t all miss match even after trying to adjust it but it also could be due to my rock sliders as well. And I do notice that the led doesn’t sit flush on the bracket but I’m just nitpicking. Hopefully there’s a revision in the future for a better bracket but it does the job for now and pretty happy with it for the most part. I also just want to say I have multiple blue dog designwerks parts on my gx470 like the fender extension and rear bumper covers as well as a cup holder insert and all of those held up perfectly and fitment was on point just wish these were made a little bit better.
